West Cheshire AC are affiliated to the following leagues:

  1. The North Staffs CC League: Separate races across all age groups, at four venues before Christmas. Finishing positions in all four rounds count towards final positions.

  2. The 'Grand Prix Express' North Wales SENIOR CC League: One race at 2pm for women over-15 and men under-17 and over-70; another at 2:45pm for all other men. At five venues between September and February. Some rounds have races for under-11s to under-15s from 10:30, but are open to North Wales clubs and schools only.

  3. The Manchester Area CC League (see also here): All age groups (no under-11s at first round), at five venues between October and February. For each race, runners use the race number allocated to them at the start of the series (additions are also allowed before each race). A runner's best four finishing positions count towards individual and team awards at the end of the series (best three for under-11s).

  4. The Liverpool and District CC Union League: One race for men and women, at three venues before Christmas (used to be male-only but senior women now run with the men).

In league 3 above, runners' numbers are recorded by the finish funnel stewards. Finishers in the other leagues are handed a disc or ticket showing their finishing position, to pass on to the WCAC team recorder, who fills in a sheet to allow the race organisers to calculate positions.

Details of individual cross-country league fixtures are available from the overall fixture list on the frontpage, by clicking on the "All Events" tab at the top of the list of fixtures, then selecting in turn "Cross country" under "Filter by event type" and the appropriate month. Alternatively, see the monthly-updated "Concise fixtures...pdf" within the overall fixture list.

Second claim members can run in league 3 above, if they notify the organisers beforehand (normally via your club's cross country secretary, who arranges for the league to produce all numbers worn by club members). They can also run in league 4 (there is a ~£2 pre-entry fee for the Sefton Park fixture, which is combined with the European trials and a nationwide mini-league). League 4 also allows guest runners (ie those who are neither first- nor second-claim members of the league clubs) in two of their fixtures. Leagues 1 & 2 do not allow either second claim or guest runners.
