Fell Running
For those interested in experiencing this facet of running there is an excellent introduction to fell running linked from the Manx Fell Runners home page. The Community section is designed to be useful for anyone interested in getting into fell running and not necessarily just racing.
Most fell races can be found on the Fell Runners Association site or locally the Welsh FR Association also by consulting the Clubfinder website which arranges clubs by County – look for clubs in or near the Lake and Peak District or the Pennine and Welsh hills and mountains.
The Cheshire Fell Running Championships after two years hosted by Congleton Harriers in their ‘Passing Clouds’ race in late October moved in 2009 to the Boar's Head Fell Race (BM) in Higher Poynton and run in June from the Hotel of that name, GR SJ943833. This change brings the race within the County boundary having previously been on the Clwydian Hills of North Wales, then the North Staffs area of the Peak District on the Cheshire border.
